My Angel

When I had you inside of me, I had never felt so free. But then I lost you, And I was left with a sadness I never knew. When I first found out about you, I was so confused and didn't know what to do. At first I didn't know what to feel, I couldn't believe you were real. All I could think was I'm only seventeen, There's so much in life I haven't even seen. I found out I was going to be a mom, Before I could even go to my senior prom. But then my love for you grew so strong, For you I wanted to do no wrong. But after only twelve weeks, you were gone, Never to meet me or your daddy, Jon. The day I lost you, I died inside, All I wanted to do was curl up and hide. I think back to all the pain and despair, And I don't even have anything to show- I guess life's not always fair. But I soon came to know, God had something more to show. There was a reason He sent you to me, It just took me awhile to see. He sent me an angel, you- To show me the purest love I never knew. You did what you were sent here to do, I needed you but He needed his angel, too. But don't worry, little one, there is nothing to fear, In my heart, you will always be near. And even though you never got to feel your mommy's touch, I want you to know- I still love you so much. And every time I look up at that sky so blue, I'll think of me and you. And every time the wind blows through my hair, I'll think of that special day, in Heaven- With me and you there.
