Mud Pies and Stone Soup
I invited my neighbors to make stone soup
one brought carrots and one brought potatoes
we were really quite a happy group
we even had beef and home grown tomatoes
Then some fellow came along
and added mud pies brown and gritty
we tried to find out what went wrong
and what we found was not so pretty
The awful filth just permeated,
we had to start brand new
I hope that none of your children ate it
'cause mud ain't good for stew .
