Mother's Delight

A little boy was born to his mother’s delight The most precious face ever placed in her sight Instantly smitten when she saw his baby blues His contagious laughter and a smile she couldn’t refuse. As time went on her baby boy was growing into a man It was like yesterday she was holding his tiny little hand Everybody who knew him thought he was the bee’s knees Popular and well loved his mama so proud and well pleased As he grew he crafted his skill to a true art form of manipulation Like a chameleon he would change to benefit in any situation Lying became as natural to him as the first words he ever spoke Not sure if he could speak the truth for he would surely choke His mom holds on to the hope and prayers she says to her father While her son disrespects her over and over not wanting to bother He is so wrapped up in himself not noticing his true friends have left He has thrown away his pride, dignity and respect, all because he chose meth. A little boy was born to his mother’s delight……….
