Mother Ocean
my children lived inside of me
so young they were inside the sea
they were so tiny and hard to see
they had many hands so they could hold
no mouths were needed for I kept them fed
eyes were useless for each book I read
my children lived inside of me
and they would grow inside the sea
they've gotten bigger to compete
there fins were used to help them swim
once they had eyes it was hard to make friends
each mouth was hungry and hard to feed
my children lived inside of me
so large they were inside the sea
they swam furiously and caused many waves
some have gotten to stay to small
the big ones would eat too many of them
then the big ones would fall for there was nothing left
my children lived inside of me
but then one day they came to leave
they grew some arms which came with legs
they forgot to swim and walked instead
they were given great minds and there talking spread
they destroyed life to build a living
my children lived inside of me
and they forgot that they were free
but hopefully they will one day
come to there mother to see if she's okay
for I have gotten sick and so have your brothers that stayed
remember we are one in many different ways
