Mother Earth
Mother earth...once young and vibrant,
poured life into all her children
with each new earth beat.
Now lays weakened...like a child across her mother's chest.
The universe cries out...her tears shed as falling stars,
as she cradles the earth to her bosom.
The cancer of indifference spreads,
as the battle rages on between those who would transfuse her
and those who would steal her last drop of life's essence.
She gasps as even her life's breath is polluted.
Her water's which were once sparkling and pure,
now course through her river veins...
infusing her with poison,
which now seeps into the very heart of her.
Will help come in time?
