Money and Life

All the gold in Thomaston Is in fancy banks uptown, hun There are two on the square Just waiting to use lair To capture your funds then you're done (Our town is drying up Today I noticed that it only seems that the banks are prospering.)

Sara, the rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer, this is a fact. Where it's going to end, it won't. Crime will increase and anarchy will abound. It's a sad reality for our tomorrows. Have a lovely weekend....:)

Bonnie and Clyde, eh? Or is it Willie Sutton? But I enjoyed this one and the apparent scheming. Regards, Gerard.

Sara, your excellent poem is a bitter truth. There is an adage, 'bankers are the people that lend you an umbrella when the weather is fair and take it back when it rains'. They make rich richer and poor poorer. They are the leaches that flourish by sucking the blood of common man. All economic imbalances are their doing. Who can know better than me. I retired as Chief Executive Officer of a bank. Thank God I am retired now and not a party to their evil deeds. -Mohammad

This same thing is happening in lots of small towns, Sara. This would make a great entry for John Freeman's contest if you haven't already written one for it. Great use of dark humor! Love, Carolyn
