Missing the Forgotten
Long coats go outta season,
Am I sad- cause I sure gotta reason!
Back to rain and muddy ground,
No longer home or school bound!
The world starts over- fresh and new,
All the beasts and birds of blue!
The light lasts longer,
The heat gets stronger...
Then the night falls and stars beam down,
Shiny and precious- like the gems on a crown!
And when it gets quite febrile,
The aroma turns fecal!
But when said and done,
We'll all miss the fun...
The chills at night- the frost on our car,
Cocoa and the night's frozen stars!
Until next season- I'll wait for my turn,
Because I realize for it I yearn.......
