Milestones
Life's first milestone
For everyone the same
Brought forth from the womb
And given a name
Vast ranges of childhood
From first words to first date
Next comes Graduation
Then choosing a mate
The milestones of life
One by one, we pass them by
Marking off our journey
Looking forward, not behind
The milestones of life
Some bring laughter, some bring tears
Let Jesus lead your way
Travel's lighter without fear
Many milestones, passed by
Several more yet to come
Race to the hospital
Labor has begun
Now a family of five
Busy days, how they've flown
Before we know it
Children are grown
The milestones of life
One by one, we pass them by
Marking off our journey
Looking forward, not behind
The milestones of life
What lies beyond the next bend?
Ask Jesus to go with you
Travel's safer with a friend
Grandchildren, such blessings
Our rewards of old age
The body grows weaker
Life's book turns a page
Just one milestone left
It's so hard to believe
Say farewell to loved ones
Time now to leave.
The milestones of life
One by one, we pass them by
Marking off our journey
Looking forward, not behind
The milestones of life
One day their trail will cease
If Jesus is your guide
You'll arrive in perfect peace
