Midnight

As Midnight awakes There’s darkness to embrace Still — a witness to this thrill— It’s dark, and lovely—albeit the chill The Nocturne’s come to life— From every walk — my, how they surprise Far enough, though just in sight— These stars shine bright, all through the night While some may dream— Streams, heaven, and other things— Waning, waxing, full or new— The clock strikes 12—the day begins, anew
