Micah's Misery In Laodicea
My heart is like that of Cain's:
Wandering helplessly, throughout Nod
Indulging in the union of Enoch
And, dreaming of ladders by which to escape
My mind was born in Laodicea:
Taking one step forward and two steps back
Pride and stubbornness have deceived me
And, I have fled with Jonah into the sea
I am neck-deep in Micah's misery
Watching Us abandon Solomon's wisdom--
Hurling stones at Stephen--
And, pouring wine into the cup of Babylon the Great
I return to bathe in my recklessness
My heart has deceived itself
I am drowning underneath a world of water
(As mighty as the guilt in my heart)...
