Memory of a Friend
One year ago today we said our goodbyes,
still hurting and missing you so.
I should be able to get on with life,
but not having you here doesn't seem real.
You brought so many smiles to my face,
you were such a great friend so faithful and loyal.
Every March 3rd will always bring saddness to my heart,
I know that everything in time must die, but
yours came to fast for me to accept it,
I hope that in time the hurt goes away,
just a little bit.
So Murphy my dear and faithful dog,
this poem is to let you know,
that I still love and miss you.
In memory of Murphy my beloved dog
of 12 years 8 months and five days.
June 26, 1997 to March 3, 2010
