Memories

Our love was based On so much more than Sex like the hand-tied steps We took around campus Walking each other to class And the nights we laid on your Bed watching nothing in particular Why do these nights only replay In my head when you looked So beautiful drying your hair I’m lying on the floor with Your feet on my chest Our love was good then When it was based on jokes Cause we used to laugh at silly Things and talked about wedding Rings well I did cause I Really loved you I had found the one And I still dream about that one Time the first time we said I love you I still dream about you Even though I’ve found my one I still want you to be the One I woke up and found Stroking my hair cause I Woke you up while I was having That nightmare where I lost you I’m living a nightmare Cause I have lost you And you won’t ever again Laugh at the way my hair Grows in different directions We’re running from this In ten different directions These memories hurt My heart tear my soul in Ten different directions I’ll never stop loving you But you’ve been reduced To mere memories

I am feeling the urge to go back and read poetry from earlier writing of my favorite poets today and this is the one I opened of yours Lyndell. I truly enjoyed reading it today and it is one of your best. Love, Carol
