Medicine Quest

Medicine Quest You may sulk or you may heal; It is the same amount of energies still. You may concentrate on who did you wrong; Same old dance, same old song. You may lay awake at night; Pondering about who is wrong or right. You may drive yourself crazy or to an early grave; But none who lives, dies unscathed. Victim mentality or survivor mode; Yesterday's baggage becomes today's heavy load. Tunnel vision validates a wounded pride; When ego does not allow the heart to guide. Hate is easy for the weak of mind; Keeps you oppressed and left behind. Takes real courage to love past the wound; Find the hope and release the doom. Medicine Man, Medicine Man, mix the elixir well; Free us from our subconscious hell. Give us a taste of our own vibes; Sweet truths and bitter lies. Swallow the pill of self denial; Drink from the waters of survival. Lay with doubts and rise with fears; Cleanse yourself with alligator tears. All in all, Creator's will be done; You must stand alone to face the sun. In the light of a brand new day; You will not hide from your own disdain. Healing comes only to those who choose; Accepting responsibility rather then to accuse. Own what makes you ill of spirit; Learn to be more coherent. Listen with the intent to understand; Become part of the greater plan. Not all things in life are all about you; Be cautious not to misconstrue. Now walk your own chosen path; The self absorbed or the empath. But choose not the path for me; We be two different branches from the sacred tree. ~ Darlene Doll Smith
