He flew away, soaring high, like a young condor With a thousand dreams in his heart His mind, a compass, set toward the eastern shore To find his love waiting, beneath the stars Two lovers, united, blazing bright from afar. Written on 6/17/2015

Thanks your very much, Sara! I was delighted to place in your contest, too! This poem was based on our son, Jeffrey, who travelled from California to New York, chasing his true love, Lindy! They married within the year :)
