Lovely Weekend
.
lovely this morning's radiance,
tender secrets in her smile,
yawn away my dreaming,
hold on to sleep for a while.
lovely the way she makes me
do our house chores for the day,
she hums the song I'm singing,
the kids in the yard at play.
lovely the nighttime silence,
her whispers in my sleep,
soon I drift to dreaming
shared secrets we both keep.
lovely this warm weekend bliss,
on weekdays this joy I miss,
home, laughter, song and rhyme,
when time idly bides its time!
