Lost Without You
Without You
the words won’t come
no matter how I try
the thoughts are empty, dry,
withered in the myriad of breathing
taking in the scent of mint
freshly cut between the grass
and I sit here thinking of the past.
Nothing changes now you're gone
the days are shorter but seem long
my heart still mourns
for all that was once born
between us.
What happens next
will be a surprise
as I remain dully pained foolishly unwise.
I’ve no plans nor foresight
to see what I should do
while I linger here
lost without you.
