Lost and Found
Be quiet quiet quiet
Yes quiet as a mouse
It's nobody else's business
What goes on inside our house
We like our big little secrets
All disguised in pretty bows
These things are just between us
It's best that know one knows!
The little girl she listened
Held that burden of belief
Pretended with eyes of happy
But inside she held her grief
Losing her voice to a sorrow
That she wasn't able to show
Inside a numb numbing awareness
and no safe place that she could go
The little girl she kept on being quiet
Until one day it became worse than weird
She tried so very very hard to speak
But her voice had completely disappeared
She traveled to places of shadow and light
Knowing it was important to have a choice
Where oh where could ever it be
She prayed God please reveal my voice
Time and Love became the revealers
God taught her it was okay to cry
A found voice no longer lost in a whisper
On notes of speech she learned how to fly
She knows nothing never and no way
Should those big little secrets be kept
A little girl transformed into a woman
No longer locked in a place of regret
Within bright light this woman is shining
She is no longer, afraid to be seen
With truthful words, she reveals her story
and lets others know where she's been
Her loving spirit becomes a true witness
With contemplation we take them to heart
Together we can celebrate her freedom
By accepting her gift of voice filled art!
Dedicated to the girl who lost her voice,
and the woman who found it.
