Long Lost Love

Long Lost Love Mine was the kiss you so used to miss, when I was just gone for the day. Now I'm always here and ever so near, you couldn't be further away. Mine were the eyes to reflect sunny skies, our future so bright, warm and clear. Through torrents of tears and fighting my fears, I watched our blue sky disappear. Mine was the voice you picked as your choice for every "I Love You" you heard. Though it's still said every night before bed, my tone says I mean not a word. Mine was the smile that lasted a while just hearing you call out my name. Now when you call I feel nothing at all and I wonder if you feel the same. Wanting to die as I'm living this lie and wading through rivers of tears, mine is the heart that's been torn all apart, our love has been lost now for years. -Jeannie Minor

Thanks Daniel. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! Right after you get over feeling like you've been hit by a truck!

I would start maybe with the local band director at your nearest high school or university, if they can't help I'll bet they know someone who can.

This is an excellent poem. You ought to put it to music. It would make a great country song.

Thank you, Daniel. You are the second person to tell me that. I would love to but I don't know anyone who writes music. Really not even sure where to look, any suggestions?

Hello John, thanks for reading and the comment as well. I've accepted your invitation to read your poem "Silent Love" and can certainly see why you feel the connection. As another said to me, "I certainly hope this is fiction, if not, I'm very sorry for your loss." Though I must say, it seems like it would take a pretty talented writer to express such deep emotion without a first person perspective.

Many can relate to these feelings. This is both sad and honest. The feelings of love are strengthened when our partner makes us feel loveable. Try making him feel loved and you may be surprised to know the spark just requires a bit of fanning to reignite the flame. By your write I can see you are a passionate person- go claim what your heart desires.

Jeannie this is heartfelt and touching. When love has faded from your first kiss to this dismal bliss it is painful and heartfelt. I guess communication is first, discussing response, and resolving.. If that doesn't work, you then have a problem. This reminds me of the Eagles son Already Gone. " We live our lives in chains and we don't even know we hold the key." Our choice of staying if there is no change brings us discomfort, and their might be someone out there that can appreciate you.

On the other hand, few things make us more grateful than the realization that things could always be worse. I hope that is the effect for the majority. Merry Christmas!

when you know that it is gone....it is best to leave it alone....so you can gather the strength to find another....if not, you will become the casualty of a false lover.....great write and message that needs to be heard Jeannie....;)
