Loneliness

Loneliness requires self pity A sorrow that sits on a throne We pay homage to that pity That screems at us"Alone!" Perhaps we've been deserted The worst alone of all Perhaps we've been disguarded And our hero's just moved on Perhaps the years took away Our peers one by one Perhaps death was unwilling To give another sun Perhaps a promise was believed And yet no one has come

Such strength in its sadness. This was so strongly done. Those last two lines gave me some chills. Wonderful job!

This is very well written. Loneliness is a very sad word and yet a lot of people live their lives like that. I know - I am one of those people, but I don't ask for pity. I try to keep myself busy. It is not good to live alone, but sometimes we have no choice. Thanks for sharing... Lucilla
