Over a velvet sea where love once did fly Across an auburn sky many memories lie Of joy , of hope, in faith of man Left drifting above a foreign land No regrets, no what ifs, no turning back time Leaving for home at the end of wartime Many moons have past and suns have rose Since I was with the one He chose Life changes slowly not always for best We're pushed to the limit in this big test Heels at attention all dressed in blue Wondering if you thought of me too Living each moment with you in my mind When I'm taken home, I hope it's you that I find

Not sure the last one got it, this is a beautiful sonnet and ironically I am reading a book called the "Berlin Diaries" so very relevant to my current research.
