Listen To the Warm
It happens just because we need to want, and to be wanted too,
when love is here or gone to lie down in darkness
and listen to the warm
Rod Mckuen
Wet leaves of summer
footprints in the soft ground,
cast away shadows of broken dreams
and bend my soul with your smile,
fill my eyes with your wonders of life,
show me, that I'm not alone.
Release my heart from its darkened state
and free its light to shine.
Show me a path not filled with ghosts,
so my journey may continue in peace.
I will turn to you in my cold trembling,
to hear the truth of things.
To warm my heart by your gentle fire
and feel its blood rush again.
To hear words of wisdom often learned,
from my quiet voice within.
