Life According To Teddy Kimathi
Before, I perceived life as a chess game,
where God chose who would fail or win;
no matter what moral background
the pawn had - a pawn with a pulse,
flesh and bones.
This made me live in a kamikaze fashion,
taking everything that make me feel good.
I was worse than a Halloween shipwreck
deep inside - the only light I saw in my
life was the Sun and Moonlight.....
As time catapulted me ahead,
I met a Zen Master in a park;
he saw my predicament and told me
something I will never forget,
and live by to this day: "The only happiness
that you will see on a mountain is the happiness
you carry with you".
From then on, I became the master of my fate,
letting go the burdens, and letting in the happiness
deep within my soul....
