Letting Go

Letting Go (3 Form Contest) Loss lingers upon this barren heart Eventually it seemed as if I'd fall apart The suffering was driven within me The torture was evident for all to see Intellectually numb unfocused brow Nothing is all that I felt somehow Going, going, going but not yet gone Giving up? No not this one Opening a new book I've just begun My inner conflict of fault and doubt Fighting amongst another unwilling to heal The lights were on but yet seemed burnt out Now the pain I choose to feel Do I blame myself Now that you're gone forever No not anymore 04/01/16

Very well done using these three forms, Brian, and so full of emotional imagery. Life can be like a see-saw, and we're always trying to find that balance that keeps us on an even keel. Best wishes for the contest. Sandra

You have a great ending, sometimes we do selfblame... the imagery is dark, deep, and sad... However you come out strong at the end, Brian.....Linda

That is how my life seems to play out dark, deep, sad, and I always pull through happy in the end!

Good one, Brian. I think you are the first one whose poem I have read for this contest. Wow I need to get busy and work on a few myself. Good luck in the contest.
