Here lies a women dead before her time Struck down by guided arrows dipped in rhyme A wound that first was sweet but turned to vile It slowly sapped her strength and stole her smile The words all worked their way down to her heart Like chamber maids, each word then played a part At first adoring, then they turned to be The pseudo kind of love: hypocrisy They mocked, and they abused her steadfast love Made her to feel naïve, a helpless dove Betrayals words they whispered in her ear And made her fear the dreaded end was near “Let tombstone read the truth not blatant lie: 'All those who trust in love in pain will die'." I'm a big fan of sonnets, and this one is particularly moving. "Dipped in rhyme" - I love that unique image. You are such a wonderful wordsmith!

A very great truth, dear Eileen, however, as they say, better it is to love an... We all die and we all suffer but what if we lessen the pain by writing the words for us expecting nothing from others? For me you are an inspired poetess and your poems touch many and most of all the Muse is happy to have chosen you as her pen!

I am...very proud. He's the valedictorian of his class. Graduated magna cum laude. :) Great Grade Point Average. I have two albums up about it on FB. Don't know if you had the chance to see the pics. I'm proud and a little envious...How I'd love to have studied theology....oh...but that's another story. :) Thanks for the visit.

Thank you, Richard. I do spend lots of time trying to find the perfect pics. To be honest with you, I find that almost as much fun as writing the poem...ALMOST. ;) Hope all is well. Attended my hubby's graduation today. He was valedictorian of his class, but you must know that from FB. Thanks for the visit. Hugs

It hurts me when you feel abused and when suspicion strikes soul. This sonnet is a storm, and so skillfully written! Let those who know of love live to fly...your hurt envelopes my nerves, yet I know your heart knows love's wings my Beloved Poetess...J.A.B.

Justin, it's good to see you here. Thanks for the visit. Those who love deeply, hurt deeply. Those who are idealists...those who do not know how to love in a shallow way....are the ones who suffer. It is the truth. It is life. To quote the song...."I believe I can fly...I believe I can touch the sky"....Hugs

Thanks, dear Anu. There is the dark and there is the light. Both constitute life....and there is some of each in our hearts. Hugs :)

This has a strong message and I believe it..Those who trust in love in pain will die...I love that line most. Eileen ,it is sad when we are adorned by beautiful words to later find out someone we believed in ,turns to be nothing but a hypocrat who doesnt truly love us. This touch deep lady..Am gonna favour it.

Thank you for my poem about the tombstone, Charmaine. I am glad you came to visit, dear. Yes, when trust is gone....it is virtually impossible to bring it back again. This is life....we live and learn. Hugs, dear.
