Leaves of the Trees
Have you ever seen a tree?
A living thing it could be
Don’t just look at it, look at it.
There is a whole world there
Just waiting to be seen.
It lives so you can live,
It means no one harm,
It is one with nature,
So many on the farm.
The leaves tell a story,
How healthy that it is,
When is the last rain fall.
Will you live tomorrow?
May I come and visit you,
What kind of greeting will I get?
You know I cut you down,
Just doing what I am told,
I hate that awful sound,
As my saw takes your soul.
I can feel the mourning
From all your relatives
I wonder what they are thinking,
On days like this.
I wish this didn’t have to be
I wish you could always be free
Why cant we live in harmony?
Why do I have to cut you down?
What will your fate be,
will you kiss the ground?
Go out be one with nature,
Live a harmonious life,
Freedom awaits you.
Take your time,
And look at the trees,
Look at the trees!
