Lady

My dog is full of life and glee But gentle and kind as should be. She sits beside me day and night. I have no fear that she will bite. When troubles come we see them thru. We live in a house of silvery white and golden hue. And then she died. Oh such a day. The sorrows were heavy. The tears they ran. I am now alone in our golden span. Remember her well. Forget her not. To honor her memory I chose this spot. Remember her well. Forget her not. The joy she gave. The love she got. This was the 1st poem I wrote for school at 11 years old. My 1st dog and constant companion had just died. Now 52 years ago. By Carol Eastman My Pet Poetry Contest

In time of sorrow sentiments do not vary all that much between those of the young and the elderly...love is the common factor. // congrats on your win. // paul

I love my doggie I love him true, I know if you could see him you'd love him too. This was the first poem I ever wrote and I was nine years old. That was 43 years ago. My dogs name was snoopy. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Fortunately you now have Dragon. When did he first appear?

This is so sweet and really good for an 11 yr. old. I remember almost every dog I ever had and as a child I mourned them deeply, as an adult the pain of losing them does not deminish. Just lost my Major three months ago. Still miss him terribly. Good write. God Bless, JB Sorry haven't been arounnd for awhile. Puter is giving me lots of grief. Freezes, skips, etc. JB

Why can't dogs and cats live as long as humans? You showed talent at such a young age! I wrote my first poems when I was ten years old in fifth grade. Unfortunately, they did not survive because my old man threw everything out.
