Kingdom
Plop.
I hit the mattress comforted by the way it hugs by body.
As the safety fills my lungs, I am released from the anxiety that had engulfed me.
Here I can rest from the pain of real life.
And as I relax the world around me shifts.
I can already hear the stones stacking themselves into mighty walls.
My walls, that even the best climbers would stumble on.
I can smell the dirt as the mote digs and fills itself.
A deep dark pit filled with the creatures from your nightmare.
The guards have taken their post, ready to protect their queen with their lives.
On my throne I lay, in the safety of my castle.
Where my fate is not bound by universal laws.
Safe and free....to dream.
