Just a Dream
I had a dream I wish to always remember
I woke up and joy infused my heart,
All the way to the last chamber
I couldn’t help but imagine,
How much more enrapturing it would feel to experience
Delirious, oh I’m so curious!
The memory is still live in my head
Of how you came hurrying
Without hesitance or tarry
Stretching forth your arms to tightly hug me
Kissing and saying you love me
That sweet first kiss tasted like honey.
Sucking the breath out of me,
Leaving me breathless and speechless;
As if we didn’t need the words
Holding hands, walking along the beach
Feeling the wet sand on our feet
Searching for a quiet place to sit, privacy
Beyond an intruder’s reach
Watching you smile,
Displaying the lovely dimples on your cheeks
Don’t wake me up, was my silent plea
But suddenly,
My eyeballs woke beneath the closed lids
I smiled, knowing it was just a dream
