July Rain 2
The hot, dry season is done!
Invite nostalgia’s approach -
enjoy her dance of delight.
Science calls her "pet-ri-chor".
quite lackluster, I would say
for fragrance ever so light.
Dust and droplets of water
unite - concocting brief whiffs
of essence known to excite.
July rain brings memory’s
sprite to life emanating
thoughts only smells can incite.
Smell deeply before she takes
flight. All too soon she will go
leaving without sound or sight.
