Jesus

From a virgins womb you were born On that beautiful Christmas morn Men came from places all around And placed many gifts on the ground At a young age you were teaching The word of God you were preaching You were baptized and God sent a dove And for you he declared his love You fasted forty nights, days When tempted you followed Gods ways You turned the water into wine Healed those who were deaf and blind You cast out demands in Gods name Made to walk the ones who were lame You brought the dead back to life again With your hand calmed the wind and rain You were whipped and beaten for our sin Because of you sin is forgiven You forgave he who betrayed you And said we should forgive too When you gave your spirit up to death And took your very last breath A great earthquake shook the ground there The temple veil in two did tear Three days later you rose again And ascended into heaven You came to earth knowing your fate Shed your blood to open heavens gate Not for the righteous, but the lost You were hung on that wooden cross
