Jar of Stars

I went outside to gather some stars All plucked one at a time from the sky Then placed them carefully in my jar You my friend may be wondering why These little stars such beautiful things All plucked one at a time from the sky To my lover this gift I will bring So I can sprinkle dust in her hair These little stars such beautiful things With this gift I show how much I care I ask her if she can close her eyes So I can sprinkle dust in her hair Her hair is glowing I'm mesmorized We savor the kiss she strokes my face I ask her if she can close her eyes There is such love as we both embrace We savor the kiss she strokes my face I went outside to gather some stars Then placed them carefully in my jar Bring'n in the Stars poetry contest.

I love seeing everyone's take on this contest. Stars make a poets mind go wild and I'm fascinated at seeing where it takes them. Your really a fan of these terzanelle's aren't you? I like how the repetition is so subtle you don't really even notice unless you literally scan for it. I wonder if by "stars in a jar" you are referring to fireflies... they sorta resemble stars ;)

Ooh, dem stars, dem stars. Your belle surely would never lose her starry-eyed look when seeing you after such treatment. Your personality shines through in this tender write. My very best of luck to you in the contest. Well done, my friend. :)
