It's Over Now
The nightmares I’ve had become fewer and fewer
Some of them are old and some of them are newer
Every time I wake, drenched with sweat and tears
This kind of stuff has been going on for many years
I look in the mirror at a face that is truly scared
Wondering if my defunct mother ever really cared
About me or Dad, or any of the pain that she caused
Or think about the wonderful daughter that she lost
It’s over now I can finally breathe on my own once more
Cause all the bad memories and nightmares are out the door
