Into the Sunlight

Twilight falls to a rising moon And then slowly fades to black Swallowing everything in an ebony cocoon Not holding anything back The stars come out to do their part Twinkling all through the night But ebony is not yet ready to depart Awaiting its transformation into light Then dawn arrives, and none too soon And something glows within the cocoon It soon emerges with wings of light And makes its timeless flight Soaring high into the sky

A very nice painting of this aspect of nature, Joseph. My post will be quite simple by comparison as I did a tanka. this is a good entry!

Dear Joseph, I tried to write something for this contest, but it could not measure up to what you have written here. From twilight to dawn, your imagery is amazing. Wishing you success in the contest! Love and blessings, Carolyn
