Innocent Times

My memory flashes back to innocent times long since gone those hot nights parked at lovers lane wolfman jack playing my favorite songs. it seems like yesterday that Peggy Sue was by my side i was hoping to get to second base but she just wanted to go for a ride. i remember my palms starting to sweat and the windows getting a bit steamy i told her Buddy Holly wrote a song about you but she didn't believe me so i pulled Peggy Sue closer and we started kissing once again but time was of the essence her dad said to be home by ten. she smiled sweetly and gently placed her hands upon my face she looked at me and said i was a swell guy but this is not the time nor the place. so i gave her a peck on the cheek and told her not to worry we can take things nice and slow I'm not in any hurry. so i drove her home, kissed her goodnight but now what was i supposed to do that's when i drove to the nearest payphone dropped in a dime and called up runaround Sue!

Oh, Kurt, how witty! I guess Runaround Sue rose to the call when Peggy Sue needed to get home. My father had a Bellair and I bet my big brother enjoyed nights like the one you describe here. Awesome memories! Congratulations, Carolyn

You took two old tunes and made an excellent poem. One never know where inspiration will come from. Took me on a walk down memory lane. Excellent write.
