Innocence

INNOCENCE Innocence, You, clear and clean water of Consciousness, Pure thought of our unadulterated Mind, Devoted instrument of divine Will, Born with us you were, In our early years Every step of ours you Tenderly attended, Always, The road of virtue Advising us to take, BUT Little by little, As years passed by, The path of honesty we lost From our sight And You, Oh innocence, Slowly but persistently Were chased away, Now, Without you, our hearts A desolate place has Grown to be, An unbearable desert Of regret has become, Thus We desperately pray A drop of your virtuous dew upon Our sinful lips to fall, Yearning Children to become Once more! © Demetrios Trifiatis 19 February 2013

"You, clear and clean water of" Clean, crystal feeling that reminds me of Elytis and the Mediterranean with its gentle sadness.

Thank you very much Bozhidar, it seems you have a good idea of both Elytis and Greece!
