Inferno

The ice is melting, I can feel the heat. The fire is spreading, The pain is bittersweet. The flame consumes all, Living as well as dead. Over this smouldering wasteland I dare not ever tread. I hold this little flame And watch its carefree dance, Longing for its freedom, But I don't have a chance. Never truly extinguished, The flame lives on. It still burns long after All the ice is gone.
