I read with greed John Master's books, to Indian culture introduced. I grew to love a distant land; by her allure I was seduced. To Indian culture introduced, I felt the urge to go and see the striking beauty of her face, the charms bestowed abundantly. I grew to love a distant land where the traditions are held high, religion, races, culture, tongues are deep-ingrained - will never die. By her allure I was seduced, this vibrant country in the east. I plan to take a closer look and let my eyes in wonder feast. ---------------------------------- Contest: Shall We Retourne Sponsor: Debbie Guzzi

Dear Paul Today I have completed the English to Hindi Translation of your Poem to place it in a Hindi daily writer's platform "Jagran Junction" forum. I hope to place the Hindi version of the Poem on PS hopefully by the end of this month after returning from a short outstation trip. I have placed Connie's Poem also on this platform - http://ravindrakkapoor.jagranjunction.com/2016/04/17/poem-by-american-poet-hailing-india/. Love and best wishes...Ravindra K Kapoor

I think the most of my rhymed poems are Quatrains.. Aren't they the normal rhyming 4-liners? I've written 2 stanzas for the new contest 'A Nook and a Storybook' and hope I got them right.. Is it okay if the syllable count of the lines in each stanza are not the same; but similar? Thank you! :) :)

Thank you Sneha:) One of my dreams is to visit India, but as you know, it's easier said than done! Have you tried this Quatrain form yet? It is not as hard as people make it out to be...perhaps I can tempt you:) All the best....paul

I am so pleased that you liked this quatrain, Red. I have read a lot about India and I have seen documentaries, too. It would be great if one day I were to visit and explore some of its beauty. Thank you for your lovely reaction and the fav:) hugs // paul

There is something special about visiting a place where traditions are long-held and the history is lengthy ... when I visited Wales, the castles, etc., it made me think of how tiny American history is ... unless you consider Native American, but in regards to recorded history that's a different story. In regards to India, they DO have legendary food, and makes almost everything else feel bland. Good poem, Paul --- I only wish you didn't make me feel hungry now!

I always wanted to visit America, but there is so much to see in European countries that I have had to shelf any plans. Malta, though small, can boast of its rich history; not all tourists come here for the sea and sun...there are treasures awaiting! And traditional food will make you hungrier still:) ~ Regards // paul

If ever given a chance, and boy I've flown close flying to Manila, and that's the hope of standing in the midst of 'Karnataka' a most beautiful greened lush state in India. Someday one day, with someone special to me. Love this piece Paul ~~ James :)

Conrad's and thanks so much for trying & brilliantly succeeding at a new form! It would have gotten MUCH higher but I could not see a relationship to any holiday? Light & Love

Hi Debbie! Earlier, on reading other entries, I did comment somewhere that this poem would get NA, since my concept of a holiday included going away to another country on tour, etc. I enjoyed the challenge of a new form:) Regards // paul

Hi Jan! My computer has gone bust. Waiting for repairs. Now using tablet, but it would not let me access Soup; only now it accepted validation...kept asking me to retype new captcha. I even had to change the title because it would not scroll down further than Q. Thank you for being the 1st to comment :) Hugs // paul
