In Someone's Shoes

Put yourself in someone’s shoes And gaze from that perspective. Doing that may give you pause Or cause to be reflective. Judging others isn’t fair Unless we’ve lived their lives. What tactics we’d reject might be How somebody survives. It’s easy to condemn or praise From knowledge one construes, But we might sing a different tune In someone else’s shoes.

Yes, an age old truth which cannot be denied. We are often much too quick to judge. In most cases, we do so without having all the facts.

I really like this but the last stanza I think could have had a better rhythm to it. It still works just the same though. I myself learned that sometimes you're not capable of walking in someone elses shoes. Great wording here and great subject Ilene.

I love it when you're on a roll ilene. Gosh darn it. And you didn't even rhyme blues. :) Your second verse was like an arrow to my heart. A life without compassion is empty and devoid. And is probably the reason that others are annoyed. :) Peace. :)

I wrote a poem called "Another Man's Clothes". I like how you bring this message home so succinctly.
