In Shadow

He stands at the edge Peering through the fence The silence of solitude roars in his mind Deep lines on his brow cruelly mimicked in steel Black shadows lie on the parched sun soaked dust even as they lie across his soul What evils must a man commit to protect his own Somewhere the war rages on without him Contest : Shadows and Lines 9th Place

Part 2 He banks and dips. His large liquid eyes stare unblinkingly at the immense eye of the setting sun its face a broad flattened disk, wider at the sides as if caught in a vise of immeasurable proportions. Then thick ribbons of cloud of a metallic gray ride before it ghostly remnants of a once vast, victorious army, reaving it. [Glad you enjoyed the Bubble contest..I look for a unique perspective to judge]

Part 1 The 1st paragraph of a most excellent short story or novella..[soft smile] feels very like prose poetry...I recommend you read The Sunset Warrior Cycle by Eric V. Lustbader..paragraph 1..book Two Soaring through frigid mists and rolling clouds, he stretches fully his long wings upon the unpredictable currents. Streamers of siver plumage, running bolaterally across his wings and cresting his majestic questing head, ripple in the wind.

I am considering we are all innocent in at least one aspect. We base our beliefs on the information at hand. We react according to those beliefs. And we are all doing the best we know how to. It is inevitable, we must experience this. (just my opinions, please don't take too seriously :)
