In Charge
Control seems to be the main issue
For our resistance to change is great
Controlling others our mission
Personal shortcomings we want to negate.
It's easier changing others
Demanding every day, every year.
We discipline wives, husbands, lovers
Which stirs up emotions and fear.
Imagine our lives blissful and calm
If others would do as we say
We don't mean to do any permanent harm,
We just like to have our own way.
If we ended suggestions that limit
Others rights to live as they want
Feelings would heal with each minute
We'd no longer argue and taunt.
The clashing of wills knot and entwine
As we strive to untangle life's rules.
Avoid domination, a restraining sign
Or we lose, and both become fools.
God lets us decide who we shall be
As He continues to love and guide
Choices we make are unlimited, free
It's our life. He lets us decide.
