'illusion of Me'

You stepped all over the depth of me You tore apart the essence of my being You short changed the altered parts Only to realize what you thought was me Was the illusion you wish you had Now look at me - Inhale the fragrance of an illusion lost Of the manifestation of your mind This is all of me The curves The smile The walk The sway of my hips I know you wish you could have a second chance at walking all over the depth of me Guess what? All you see today Was never yours to begin with Walk away and watch me sway Watch me dance to my own tune Not the illusion of your warped mind I got up I smiled I walked away Watch me sway While you drown in the illusion of me ©150920151518

Loved this Wilma. You remind me of Maya Angelou. Hurt, yet able to stand for herself and assert her own person, not to be stepped-on. You really are a poetess after my own heart. hugs!

I know this feeling, I know this feeling--the wish to wiggle out a second chance from the jaws of misjudgment

Hello Wilma, enjoyed the self assuredness you portray here, its a difficult balancing act living out the role born to woman and man, I wonder how much going wrong is down to external/material influence..? Got me thinking here..'

Hey Wilma, stopped by for a visit. This is a wonderful poem from you reflecting great personal strength and inner confidence. I wish more women would adapt this mindset and lift themselves up no matter what else is going on around them or what others may view them as. Excellent writing and expression. Be Blessed, Neva

You go girl!! You sure told THIS guy off...Words from a woman who knows who and what she is and is proud of it! I like the way you walked away AND I like the way you sway...

Hi Wilma: I just loved this self affirming prose that you know who you are and what he had was real but became an illusion because he was a fool! My compliments.
