I'll Be Ready In Five Minutes

I’ll Be Ready in Five Minutes

By Elton Camp

“Lucy Belle, won’t you come on, dear.
We are going to be late again, I fear.”

Poor Ronald made this plaintive cry
In hope that to speed up she would try

Although it was nearly time to go
Lucy Belle hadn’t got dressed, though

She bellowed out with an angry shout
“Just leave me alone, you sorry lout.”

“In five minutes I’ll be in the car.
Just be sure that’s where you are!”

Ronald paced the hall up and down
Looked at his watch with a frown

Twenty minutes had already passed,
To say it would bring an angry blast

So Ronald gave a resigned sigh
Maybe they’d get there by and by

Thanks, it was easy to write as I simply described the situation in my own home. As you can surmise, my spouse doesn't use the computer! Elton
