If You Die Before Me

If you die before me I won’t jump into your grave Nor shall i weep I would just stopped writing And pursue the art you leave unfulfilled If you die before me I won’t build a monument exaggerating our love Nor shall I construct any mausoleum Disrespecting your memory I will go door to door to pay the loan From them you took. If you die before me I won’t take hemlock in memory of you Nor shall I take myself in like a slug Nor shall I marry again I will go to the race of man And keep the promise, to them you gave.
