If I Were a Love Poet

If love poetry were my pet, I would write about your lips, I would focus on your ruby lips, I would sweeten my ink with their splendour Those syrupy and luscious lips, I would tell the world about their tenderness With my pen I would part them, A smile worth brightening the skies than the sun If poetry were my strength, Your lips would command the weakness of art I would let them know of your lips, Those tepid lips inviting me to your boudoir Those sweet lips full of nectar, I would define my art with their beauty With my pen I would part them, A smile worth brightening the skies than the sun If I woke up a love poet, My first piece would win the charm of your lips I would break every stanza with your lips, I would enchant my spirits with their worth Those incandescent stars on your face, I would make them the icing of my art With my pen I would part them, A smile worth brightening the skies than the sun If love poetry were my king, I would serve him with the wonders of your lips I would yearn to have our lips collide, I would rub them against mine Those luscious lips full of sweetness, I would serve my genre right with them With my pen I would part them, My tender kissing I would own their grandeur.
