I Welcome Spring
There is a smell in the air
As the new western breezes blow
One can almost feel a warmth
With a sense of rebirth
Just around the bend
I smile today with this feeling
Knowing that tomorrow is but
Only a day away and spring
Knocks upon winter’s door
Ready to be greeted
Emancipated feelings
Overpower the bundled forms
As winter garments are shed
As eyes widen to the sun
As hands plant new seeds
My heart, along with seeds
Now prepares for spring
As it will bask in the sunshine
Of nourishment and soak
In the rains of growth
