I Was In a Big Snafu

I was in a big snafu. I could not pay any bills. And the neighbors never knew. No need to feel all blue. I read books by candlelight. I was in a big snafu. The electric bill was due. Sconce and candles on each wall. And the neighbors never knew. I thought I might go cuckoo. Hard work was about to fall. I was in a big snafu. I cooked meals on the hearth, too. The payments would not forestall. And the neighbors never knew. Three house sales had fallen through. I soon told my house adieu. I was in a big snafu. And the neighbors never knew. © March 7, 2012 Dane Ann Smith-Johnsen

It did happen. It was the perfect opportunity to move back to Florida and closer to my extended family, though. I made a profit, too. It sold in 2 weeks.

Oh, sweet friend, I know life is very hard for many of us, but you have really withstood the storms in your life. (If your neighbors had known, I'd like to think they would have helped you.) Looking forward to our big trip! I didn't see your "meter scheme" outlined on your new didactic contest. If people are going to be judged by this criteria, it might be helpful to let them know what the proper meter is. Just a suggestion. Love and blessings, Carolyn

When I went to tell them goodbye because I was moving...and shared the situation...they did say they wish they had known and that they would have helped. They didn't even know the lights were out because I had it so lit up. And I had candle light dinners with my sweetie. (Always too proud to take help, I guess...even from him. But I did improve, some...it seems.) Thanks for your suggestion, Carolyn.
