I Waited For You
The soul of joy like music from Elysian winds
Ascend beside me veiled then quietly descends
The desire which makes thee one with me
Your penetrating presence for all eternity
Beneath the tower and balcony
Inside the garden wall and gallery
Lying robed in snowy white
Even through the noises of the night
I wait for you!
Your love that burns inside my blood
Together we’re one – by Gods own word
From within your side I came to thee
You were made in the image of Christ for me!
I wait for you!
Speak, “I love thee better than best”
I return, “Yes I love thee, I confess”
Sit by my side, touch gently my hand
For this day you’ve become my husband!
I waited for you!
