I SING

The time is now, the margin's cleft
I sing my soul, the sound I've wept,
Arise and feel the echo's deft
I sing injustice ~ bounties slept!

I sing immortal truth be kept
and hum indignities bereft,
I sing faith's virtue, grace in debt
I sing to pray ~ to knee's concept!

I sing, I sing, the volumes swept
with need of hopefulness albeit
Now hear, all melody accept
and bring to reason, legal met!

But stand still, treason, nation's bet
on who will finish ~ with regret,
so silence, season, silence let
while mourning Jesus ~ solace met!
