I Promise
I'm making just one resolution this time
as a part of my last old year's prayer.
My promise to strive to be closer to God
will compel me to be more aware
OF
God's command that I tell others He loves them too
and desires that they yield to His Son
how blind selfishness sometimes takes over my life
and shrinks my influence to--none

OF
the need to make healthier choices of meals,
for God surely wants me to be fit
weak parts of my body that cry out to me
and grow worse when for hours I sit
the requirement of resting both body and mind
of this Christian so neither will QUIT!

Oh, how far-reaching one resolution can be!
Can I keep it? My faith in Him will be the key.
