I Love You

Spending a lifetime trying to proof her worth, Fighting aimlessly here on earth, Empty results over and over again, Watching her struggle through this pain to no end, My heart sunk, it ate at my soul, I can't make up for a love you don't know, And, oh, how I wish you knew, Look at what it's doing to you, Saying I love you a trillion times, Yet there are no words left to satisfy, Because you don't believe, how can you see?, Your heart has flown away from me, The enemy thrived on the pain of your doubt, So subtly sucking all the love out, Replacing it with fear, where has your trust gone?, What can I do to help make you strong?, My tears won't stop for you, an ocean of pain, If I drown with you, I'll never swim again, I can reach down and hold out my hand, And gently bring you to the surface to understand, I'm giving myself just so you see, How much your love means the world to me, I could give you materialistic gifts, and soothe you for a time, But the gift of my heart is much harder to find, And giving that is the best gift of all, It's the love we give that mends our soul,
